I picked up Helen Stevenson's
Instructions for Visitors when I was in Hong Kong about 4 years ago and only just got around to reading it in the last week. I finished it a couple hours ago and am rather ambivalent about this particular title. I've read other literary travel about France before - always there's the element of romance - consider Sarah Turnbull's
Almost French and Suzy Gershman's
C'est La Vie - but I didn't find her written voice particularly engaging, which was rather a disappointment.
